My Move To LA

Alright, if any of you have read this blog with any kind of regularity you'll know that some time back I posted about the joggers along 3rd during morning rush hour. I thought they must have some sort of mild autism or something because you'd have to in order to jog along side hundreds of slow moving vehicles.

Well, I should have taken this into account before I went on a morning jog around our new neighborhood yesterday. I figured since I was running along the side streets and it was still fairly cool out that I'd avoid a lot of the pollution. I was wrong.

I equate the way jogging in West Hollywood (which I assume has cleaner air than Koreatown during rush hour) makes you feel to the way your lungs feel after you take way too big of a bong hit because of adolescent indiscretion.

My lungs still hurt. At least now I know I do not suffer from a mild form of autism.

I had another Hollywood moment today. As I was rounding the corner of the frozen food section at the Whole Foods on 3rd and Fairfax I almost ran into one of my favorite comedians, David Alan Grier. I said "Excuse me" to which he grumbled something and then carried on his shopping. He looked terrible to say the least. He was wearing sweats, had scraggly facial hair and looked miserably tired. I thought he must be off his meds or something but then later I heard he's on this seasons Dancing With the Stars and figured he probably just finished practice.

I love this town.

Terrible news. The Adam Carolla Show is cancelled as of tomorrow.

The show actually played a small part in my decision to move to LA. I will miss it dearly.

I knowingly met a billionaire for the second time in my life today (and the last 6 months). The first one was what I would expect a billionaire to look and talk like: A very serious and gruff fifty something man dressed in clothes worth more than my car with a bodyguard standing beside him.

The second was quite a shock. He's my age, about 120 lbs, wore jeans and a T-shirt and had the softest hand I've ever shaken.

Hooray LA!

Anyone who's spent any considerable amount of time with me has probably heard me talk about Loveline or The Adam Carolla Show. I grew up listening to Loveline with Adam Carolla and Dr. Drew (and believe it or not I actually learned a lot about addiction [and myself]) and I was sad to see him leave for morning radio but as it turned out I liked him there a lot too.

As you've probably read The Adam Carolla Show has been canceled and the station turned into a top 40 hits station in order to save money. I'm a little bummed that I don't get to listen to him live in the car anymore but he has started a podcast which (so far) is good.
